The Social Media Summit officially opened this morning at the Aviva Stadium and it is one of a few conferences that is aiming to replace the Websummit. The brainchild of Samantha Kelly, aka the Tweeting Goddess and a contributor to Irish Tech News, the Social Media Summit is aiming to become a regular fixture on the Irish conference calendar.
The aim of the conference is to help business engage better with current and prospective clients via social media. Businesses are known to treat social media as an afterthought and have a limited social media presence or even worse none. The main reasons for this is a lack of knowledge on how to implement strategies and also a lack of training.
Without good speakers a conference is nothing, and when you have speakers of the calibre Ted Rubin you can guarantee the delegates will want to come back again next year.
