Dublin’s original purveyor of donuts officially opened its eagerly anticipated flagship store on Bachelors Walk, Dublin yesterday. ‘Rolling since 1978’, ‘The Rolling Donut’ is an Irish, family-run business famous for its delicious classic donuts that continue to be sold from the iconic kiosk on O’Connell Street.

The Rolling Donut is now expanding and opening Dublin’s newest and most exciting donut destination. The new store specialises in unique, filled gourmet donuts created using the finest quality ingredients and fresh sourdough starter. Handmade with love, all donuts are freshly baked every day and paired with The Rolling Donut’s signature compotes, fillings and glazes to ensure customers experience nothing less than Dublin’s finest artisan donuts.

The Rolling Donut’s range has been curated with care and creativity and offers a host of delectable choices with something special to satisfy all tastes and cravings. The menu includes ‘Peanut Berry Delight’, a rich peanut butter filling topped with a sweet mixed berry compote and finished with a sprinkle of toasted peanuts; the ‘Baileys Bliss’, a Baileys-infused cream filling paired with a rich vanilla glaze; and the ‘Molly Malone’, a sumptuous apple and cinnamon combination topped with vanilla glaze and biscuit crumble.

Other must-try flavours are the ‘Pistachio Salted Caramel’, a luxurious homemade salted caramel with a sprinkle of pistachio for some extra bite; the ‘The Dub’, a rich chocolate ganache combined with a smooth and creamy vanilla custard filling; and the ‘Hipsters Paradise’, a matcha green tea donut that will not only satisfy a sweet tooth but also give a boost of antioxidants and energy.
The Rolling Donut was founded almost four decades ago by Michael Quinlan, who has passed his specialist skills in producing decadent donuts to his daughters Lisa and Aimee. Lisa and Aimee spent the majority of their childhood and teenage years learning all there is to know about donuts, from ingredients to baking and regular tasting, and over the past number of years they’ve worked closely with their dad to grow The Rolling Donut brand.
