Last Saturday inspirational speakers, industry professionals, top bloggers, digital influencers, gathered in the Marker Hotel for the third BLOGGERCONF, where they shared their experience and experience with an eager audience willing to learn. Over the day bloggers from beauty and cooking through to fashion and travel listened intently and took notes, as various we were schooled in various topics including Mojo, SEO, selling online, and various masterclass incuding one by Twitter.
A reoccurring theme, inspirational stories ran throughout the day showing experienced and rookie bloggers that anything is possible. The valuable insights and tips on the day were also of great use to all bloggers from the experienced to the rookies and I know that I picked a few tips that will be useful to my blog. Anne-Marie Tomchak, a digital innovator formerly of this parish and now the UK editor of Mashable shared some insights into her expertise at maximising social media channels and developing new video formats. I had first seen Anne-Marie at the first Mediacon two years and I was looking forward to see her again.
My colleague Marie-Clare, who was at her first BLOGGERCONF, enjoyed, the conference and this is what she took away from it:
It was great to see a great community of bloggers get together and as I mentioned before the inspirational stories struck a chord with me and the rest of the attendees. Oonagh O’Hagan the founder of Meaghers Pharmacies and, travel blogger Johnny Ward, described by CNN as the million dollar blogger, showed how passion and dedication can help you go far.
Oonagh told us how nothing stopped her from getting where she is from borrowing €2M to buy her first pharmacy to when she faced a major problem such as the downturn in the economy. She ended up slightly pivoting to create an online store which is one of the leading ones in Ireland Johnny spoke about how he was travelling around Asia, and had a stint as a teacher teaching English before he started his career in blogging,
If you are interested in blogging, or you are already blogging, BLOGGERCONF is worth attending. Where else will you get valuable tips and insights as well as meet fellow bloggers. The blogging community is growing every day and having an event where they can all get together, network and share stories shows how far blogging has come and that it won’t be going away any time soon.
