This Friday, June 16th, will see Cork’s tech community converge at the Digital Hub Republic of Work for the county’s first ever software conference – rebelCon 2017. The sold-out event will see over 15 national and international speakers discuss proven best practices, techniques and insights into how to build and deliver successful software products.
The not-for-profit conference is sponsored by Poppulo, DesignWizzard and it@cork Skillnet.
Poppulo (formerly Newsweaver) is a prime example of a Cork-based Company continuing to evolve and grow – attracting the best and brightest in the developer field to Leeside. The sleek rebrand sees Poppulo take the helm of the company’s employee communication solution offerings, while the former, Newsweaver, will remain dedicated to email marketing solutions.
Conference goers will be treated to host of topics and themes by speakers who include; David Mills (Chief Engineer at Xanadu Consultancy), Chris O’Dell (Software Specialist at Skelton Thatcher Consulting), Ryan O’ Reilly (High Performance Coach), and Mary O’ Donovan (Principal software developer at Dell EMC).
From the rebelCon Press Release:
“It is hugely exciting that the conference has sold out so early, it proves that the tech community here in Cork needed a forum like this. We are very proud at Poppulo to support and facilitate the incredible innovation stemming from technology companies across Cork” says Stephanie
Sheehan Director of Engineering at Poppulo.
Speaking about the event Aidan Casey CTO of DesignWizard said “rebelCon gives us the opportunity to bring the best of the industry’s thought leaders right to the heart of the developer community here in Cork. We are delighted to be part of this fantastic range of events over 2 days. ”
In addition to the conference itself, the rebelCon crew are hosting an Unconference on Thursday evening 15th June at the BOI workbench. This is a free kick-off event where speakers will vie for votes to deliver 10-minute lightning talks. rebelCon will also round out the 2 days of tech events with an afterparty at Deep South on Friday night.
