Preview: AI Awards Dublin 2018

When and where is it on?
22 November, Gibson Hotel in Dublin

How many years has it been going?

This is our first year of the AI awards but AI Ireland has been running events since June together with Irish artificial intelligence companies and interested individuals.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Everyone knows Ireland is the European home to many top US technology multi-nationals. It’s far less broadly known that Irish companies of various sizes are themselves leading global innovators in the area of artificial intelligence. Companies like Voysis working on voice recognition, Valeo in the area of autonomous cars and
Webio on AI-powered customer communications are just a few of the active members of AI Ireland tackling the hottest topics in global technology today.

What exciting things can people look forward to?
As well as the awards ceremony, we also want to highlight the importance
of an AI strategy for Ireland. Many of our European counterparts already have national strategies for AI as they see this is the key driver of growth and jobs in the coming decades.

Who will be speaking?
We are finalising the list of speakers from both multi-national companies and startups to showcase the full range of activities in the AI space. Microsoft have graciously agreed to be our lead sponsor so they will show some of the work they are doing in the AI space both internationally and in their Irish operations.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
Tickets are on Eventbrite if you search for AI Awards. The event is a non-profit initiative so actually selling tickets is vital to the awards’ long-term viability, so if you can please do buy a ticket. Most of the places are already taken which is a great achievement considering it’s more than a month away and it’s our
first year.
