Power of Video Conference and Food Festival, Belfast, May 26th & 27th

By @SimonCocking

When is it on?

The Power of Video Conference and Food Festival will be held on Friday 26th May 2017 from 8am and Drone Race Saturday 27th May 2017 at T13 in Titanic Quarter. Festival organisers will be kitting out Belfast Cathedral with a 9×3 meter HD screen to show off the amazing video content generated by creators from around the world.

How many years has it been going?

This will be the conference’s second year following a highly successful first year which saw creators including YouTuber of the year Casey Neistat and Snapchatter Shondoras visit Belfast for the event.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Damien Gallagher and Billy May, owners of Speed Motion Films, have travelled around world filming and attending conferences with the same ethos, and wanted to bring the same love of travel, tech and video to Ireland in a unique event.

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?

This year we are expanding our sold-out event from last year to include a Food Festival and the first major FPV Drone Race in Northern Ireland. We will also be offering masterclasses with several of the speakers on Thursday/Saturday for those that want to learn even more about the Power of Video.

What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?

Festival organisers aim to both educate and entertain – providing opportunities to learn from major companies like YouTube as well as content creators that can attest to the true power of video and the way that it’s changed their lives and brands. There will be a VIP meet and greet, plus workshops and masterclasses from some of the biggest content creators in the world. Organisers will also host an area for businesses or start-ups that would like to exhibit as well as sponsorship opportunities for event, which will be compiled into a TV Special with several interested networks.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Buy your tickets early and arrive early to get a good seat. There is a lot of information, so we recommend people bring their laptops or at least a way to take notes. Many attendees will bring their own cameras as well and guests can enjoy a collaborative atmosphere during the breaks and are encourage to go out and shoot their own videos over the duration of the event.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Last year’s festival sold out quickly. Organisers are encouraging people to book as soon as they are able on the website: powerofvideo.co.uk
