OxygenCare enhances healthcare offering with Exergen Thermometers

OxygenCare, a leading provider of life-saving medical equipment and solutions, is the preferred and only supplier of the Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer (TAT-5000S) to hospitals in the Republic of Ireland.

Headquartered in the US, Exergen is an award-winning, industry-leading provider of non-invasive temperature measurement technologies for industrial and medical applications. OxygenCare, also an award-winning business, has been supporting the Irish healthcare market for more than 50 years and distributing Exergen products for close to a decade.

The recent tender award will see OxygenCare offer Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometer and integrate it into hospitals across Ireland, thus supporting its mission to enhance patient care with cutting-edge medical technology and superior service.

This high-performance, non-invasive contact thermometer is designed for professional healthcare settings, providing quick and accurate measurements. As well as capturing the highest temperature in the temporal artery at a rapid rate of 1,000measurements per second, it can deliver readings in under three seconds.

“Partnering with Exergen aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver high-quality medical technologies alongside exceptional service,” said Maurice Moran, Managing Director of OxygenCare. “The Temporal Artery Thermometer is an essential tool in healthcare delivery, and we are proud to play a role in equipping hospitals with technology that enhances patient care and health outcomes.”

For healthcare teams, Exergen’s Temporal Artery Thermometer allows healthcare professionals to gently swipe the thermometer across a patient’s forehead, obtaining a highly precise reading without causing discomfort or requiring an invasive procedure.

Seamlessly integrating with leading spot check patient monitors, this device also enhances workflow efficiency in fast-paced environments. It also enables healthcare providers to avoid the recurring cost of disposable probe covers due to its easy-to-clean construction.

Furthermore, the Temporal Artery Thermometer is IP22 certified which reduces the risk of damage from everyday handling, minimises maintenance costs, and extends the equipment’s lifespan.

“Our partnership with OxygenCare exemplifies the synergy between innovative medical products and outstanding service. Together, we are bringing the TAT-5000S to hospitals across Ireland and setting a new standard for patient care,” said Dr. Francesco Pompei, founder and CEO of Exergen Corporation. “With the TAT-5000S, healthcare teams can make faster, more informed clinical decisions, ultimately improving health outcomes.”
