Oral-B, the #1 Dentist Recommended Brand Worldwide, pioneered both the electric toothbrush and connected brushing, and now has unveiled its most revolutionary technology to date, the Oral-B iO™.
After 6 years of research and over 250 patents, Oral-B iO™ represents a new era of brushing technology, design, and experience that delivers a professional clean feeling every single day.
A first for brushing technology, the iO clean, a clean that users will feel all day long, every day, is the result of Oral-B iO’s™ new frictionless magnetic drive, which distributes energy evenly to the tips of the bristles to create the new, revolutionary gentle micro-vibrations.
When oscillation rotation is combined with micro-vibrations, the brush glides tooth by tooth for a smooth and quiet experience. The result is Oral-B’s best ever clean: 6x more plaque removal along the gumline* for 100% healthier gums in only one week.
“Oral-B iO™ goes beyond being a new toothbrush, it is an innovative brushing technology with a truly sensorial experience that users will feel, hear, and see.
It transforms the act of brushing teeth from something they have to do into something they actually will want to do,” said Phillip Hundeshagen, P&G R&D. “Six years of dedicated research were undertaken with dental professionals to discover a wholly original brushing experience.”
The all-new user interface was inspired and designed with input from more than 1,800 consumers who dedicated many hours into the iO technology, research, testing, and development phases to deliver the smoothest, most personalised brushing experience.
Users loved the new, innovative features, which help promote superior oral care and create a more personalised brushing experience:
The Interactive Colour Display enables easy navigation through the brush features and cleaning modes including welcome greetings, choice of brushing modes, language settings, and selection of cleaning modes, including sensitive, deep clean, and whitening.
The Smart Pressure Sensor guides users to apply optimal cleaning pressure. The sensor warns of overpressure with a red light and indicates in green when users are applying the optimal cleaning pressure, maximising the effectiveness of Oral-B iO’s™ iconic round brush head, inspired by dentist tools.
The Magnetic Charger provides a fast, full charge in just three hours. The brush display provides an easy-to-read battery strength indicator.
The new Oral-B App provides 3D graphics and the AI Brushing Recognition technology with artificial intelligence, recognises all areas within the mouth, guiding users toward 100 percent brushing area completion.
The Visual Timer provides personalised guidance for users to reach their best clean yet.
The timer tracks each brushing session duration, so users know when they have brushed for the dentist-recommended two minutes. Smiley icons on the display lets users know if they have achieved their goal.
In clinical tests, Oral-B iO™ provided a deeper clean of teeth and gums, allowing users to easily and effectively maintain oral health. Versus manual toothbrushes, Oral-B iO™ users experienced:
To ensure Oral-B iO™ delivers an experience that meets and exceeds users’ desires and expectations, more than 1,200 hours were invested to gain invaluable consumer feedback that was incorporated throughout the research and development process.
Users commented on Oral-B iO’s™ “sensational feel”, “super-cleaning” and described it as gentle as “a bumblebee on a flower.” The end result is a technology that revolutionizes the category so that users are immediately impressed with and cannot wait to use it.
“There is nothing like Oral-B iO™. It introduces a new era in brushing and is a monumental leap in innovative oral care technology,” said Steve Bishop, P&G Health Care CEO.
“The result of years of expert development, Oral-B iO™ strikes the right balance between effectiveness and experience and reimagines how a brush performs, cleans, and feels. It is a brush that people will look forward to using and will deliver superior oral health.”
ORAL-B iO™ Series 9 RRP €649.99* and is available on Amazon and Boots.ie and in-store now.
