In the continuing saga of patent wars, Motorola, this morning has secured a permanent injunction against Apple’s  iCloud and any device that uses the service because of patent infringement. While Apple can still appeal the decision, Motorola can seek to enforce this if they pay a 100 million Euro bond.

Since the announcement  above Apple has pulled the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and 3G Original iPads from their German stores. This seems to have been in response to a different case that Motorola won an injunction for back in December and not in response to the iCloud issues. The iPhone 4S and the iPad 2 do not appear to be covered under this so remain on sale.

More as this develops. Again it is the consumer that looses out here the most, as silly season continues in the German courts
