Leading IT Solutions Provider, Ergo announces expansion into Asia-Pacific region with New Zealand office opening

Ergo, Ireland’s leading IT solutions provider has announced further expansion of its growing global footprint with the opening of its first office in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Supported by Enterprise Ireland, and based in New Zealand, the new office is part of the company’s ambitious international growth strategy, which hopes to see Ergo have at least 50 percent of its business originate outside of Ireland by 2025.

This expansion into the APAC region will bolster Ergo’s growing global Managed Services proposition, by offering its multinational customers a ‘follow the sun’ approach delivering more cohesive and efficient 24/7 services. It will also see the company scale it’s out of hours capability for its growing global customer base. With teams based in Ireland, the UK, the US, Romania, Colombia and now New Zealand, Ergo can ensure even greater continuity, without the limitations of time zones and geographies.

The office, based in Auckland, will have an initial headcount of seven full-time employees, some of whom have relocated from Ireland to help establish Ergo’s presence in the region.

Commenting on the announcement, Ergo CEO, Paul McCann said: “This latest move represents another significant milestone for the company and is evidence of our ambitious international growth strategy. Building on our 30-year heritage in Ireland, we continue to expand our global footprint at pace, and bolster our position as a leading partner for CIOs and their teams. Beyond New Zealand, and the APAC region we also have ambitious plans to continue to drive market share in the US, with plans to also expand the UK including Northern Ireland as well as strengthening our senior team here in Ireland.”

“We are truly invested in helping organisations, irrespective of their business challenge or need, be prepared for today while planning for tomorrow, especially as businesses continue to embrace disruption, navigate broader macro issues, and explore new and emerging technology such as generative AI.”

Growing Capability

Already trusted by some of the world’s leading companies, Ergo will provide expert IT implementation, bespoke and insights-led advice, and proactive IT managed services in New Zealand. It will partner with existing and new customers, to help them with their cloud and infrastructure, modern work, and application and software needs, making them more agile, efficient, and compliant. The team in New Zealand will also perform critical services that typically take place out of business hours such as vulnerability detection in the case of cyber-attacks as well as facilitating necessary software patching and updates.

Trevor Mallard, Ambassador for New Zealand in Ireland said, “As two island nations with similar population sizes, the cultural and economic ties between Ireland and New Zealand are extremely strong. New Zealand provides Irish companies with a complementary time zone and good access to markets across the Asia Pacific region.  Here at the New Zealand Embassy in Ireland, we’re highly encouraged to see Irish companies such as Ergo look to New Zealand when expanding into new markets.”

Anne Lanigan, Divisional Manager, Technology & Services, Enterprise Ireland said: “We are delighted to support Ergo on the continued expansion of their business. The company’s new managed services hub in Auckland demonstrates the importance of the region and Ergo’s commitment to providing innovative technology solutions and enhanced 24/7 support services to their clients as they scale globally.”

This latest development comes after Ergo’s recent announcement that it became the first company in Ireland to implement the ServiceNow Managed Service Provider platform as part of a €3 million investment. This technology includes cutting edge AI capability and is anticipated to transform Ergo’s customer service offering and significantly enhance the company’s IT Managed Services proposition as it continues to grow at pace.
