1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

I will be MCing the mainstage at Tech Connect Live this Thursday, May 30th, and also moderating the Panel Discussion.” hashtag#TechConnect19 and also making some opening and closing remarks for the event too.

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

Nothing ever happens as quickly as we’d like it too! The last year has been great, traffic is up, we’re publishing more articles, more frequently by more different authors and the long tail benefits only continue to get better. What’s not to be happy about.

What are your plans for the future?

Tricky question. To achieve the immediate things on my to-do list, while also evaluating what ‘good’ looks like in the longer term too. Specifically, I guess to stay on top of all the cool business books that come in to be reviewed, while also ensuring we cover a wide and relevant range of topics. We also feel green & clean tech and renewables are super important and we plan to devote more coverage to these areas as climate change is a vital and challenging issue that we must not ignore any longer.

What will you be talking about at this event? 

Mostly listening to the assorted excellence, but also summarising Irish tech trends, things to look out for, what we do well here, and what opportunities lie ahead too. And encouraging people to make relevant and useful networking connections.

What inspired you to attend it?

I’ve been before, MCing the mainstage a few years ago too. I like the founders, I like what they are trying to do, they are pulling together a lot of interesting people all into the same place at the same time. What is not to like, it makes sense to be there, and , due to some other logistics I also have a speaking gig the day before in Dublin and a flight to catch to Monaco that afternoon from Dublin too, so you could say it was win win.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

If you look at my twitter feed you can see who I am following. Lots of great people, too many to name them all, but you will get a sense by those that I RT the most. For news I like to read any good articles on any sites, and also have a weak spot for following the sport, football, cricket and more on BBC too.
