When and where is it on?
For 2020 the EuroSTAR Software Testing & Quality Conference is going online.
From the exciting EuroSTAR speakers and insightful learning sessions to networking with community, a virtual Expo and interactive events throughout all three days; attendees at EuroSTAR 2020 Online will get high energy experience that EuroSTAR is known for.
“We are bringing a world-class online event to the EuroSTAR audience (and beyond) this November, and it will be more accessible than ever before. Our focus is togetherness – being together as a community, whatever the distance. We want to help bring people closer, and we can bring the power of the EuroSTAR community to more people. The opportunity is unexpected but exciting!” says Lorraine Banks of EuroSTAR Conferences.
How many years has it been going?
EuroSTAR first began in 1993 and is Europe’s largest and longest running software testing event. For 28 years, the all-inclusive EuroSTAR community has gathered testers and QA professionals from all over Europe to connect, learn and test.
What was the inspiration to start it?
In 1993, software testing had no collaborative platform in Europe, no way to connect with the wider community, to share ideas and collectively problem solve which benefits the industry as a whole. EuroSTAR was created to develop a community within the European testing industry. The very ethos of EuroSTAR is to help testers, quality assurance engineers, managers and consultants to collaboratively work together, share knowledge and fulfil their greatest professional potential.
Who will be speaking?
EuroSTAR 2020 Online features inspiring keynotes from trailblazers of the testing world. You can communicate the true value of QA to your company with Ronald Cummings-John of Global App Testing. Hear real life stories of microservices testing with Tomasz Dubikowski of Ocado Technology. Unlock the power of testing in production with Abby Bangser from MOO. Confront your testing problems with Michael Bolton, exploratory testing expert and learn both the limits and superpowers of AI with Jason Arbon at the forefront of AI testing.
The programme features half day intensive tutorials offering in-depth learning in the hottest testing topics. Fran O’Hara delves into agile, Fiona Charles shares powerful test techniques, Alan Richardson (EvilTester) gets technical on web applications, and lots, lots more. EuroSTAR attendees will gain actionable tactics to improve their work and re-energise testing projects.
The 30 minute track talks are bursting with talented speakers. You will learn how to thrive in test automation, hear about testing real life escape rooms during the World Championship of Escape Rooms as well as deep dive into continuous delivery, improving team collaboration and so much more.
You can see the full programme on the EuroSTAR Website.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
We will share lots of tips to get the best out of EuroSTAR 2020 Online as we get closer to 17-19 November. For now, getting to know the programme and highlighting your preferred talks is always important. For the first time ever, ALL tutorials will be available after the event so you can access 10+ indepth training tutorials, as well as all the track talks on demand. Many of these training sessions would be more than the EuroSTAR ticket in their own right, so this shows just how accessible the online event is in terms of learning and value for your company.
We’ll be providing an interactive networking platform for all attendees so reaching out and engaging with your fellow testers will help you to connect and meet people from more than 50 countries. You are not alone and EuroSTAR is like an extended circle of friends that helps you to feel supported and celebrated as a tester.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
The current ticket price offers excellent value with the entire three day conference at just €395 in total. This offer is available until 14th June.
You can increase the benefits by including your wider team and avail of 20% savings for a team of five or 30% for a team of ten. Larger groups can get in touch for tailored packages.
The EuroSTAR Conference is completely independent and is not a vendor led programme. Every year there is a widespread call for submissions and an independent Programme Committee review and select the best talks for the testing community to learn and improve. All submissions are reviewed by up to 50 testers & QA professionals across the world so that every effort goes into ensuring the EuroSTAR audience receive the very best talks possible.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
EuroSTAR has talks for all levels of tester and all disciplines. There is a wide range of topics being explored for both new and experienced testers, along with software developers in test, quality assurance professionals, team leads and management.
In addition to the incredible talks. The community networking is hugely important and gives you the opportunity to have meaningful conversations and get solutions to ongoing testing problems.
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
EuroSTAR isn’t just for November. You can avail of expert testing resources all year round on EuroSTARHuddle.com – Europe’s largest online testing community.
We believe in the power of shared learning and for us, this idea of keeping it free, is something we feel strongly about, so there is no charge to become a member of EuroSTAR Huddle and access the amazing content co-created by the community. By joining, you not only have the opportunity to avail of this content but can also join in and shape the future of how the community grows. You can co-create, compose, communicate, connect, converse and celebrate with the community as much as you feel comfortable to do so.
We hope to welcome you!
