Aiming to reduce the cost and simplify the process, the Viddyad technology platform automates professional video Ad creation with built in distribution and publishing. Hot on the heels of winning another award, we spoke with Viddyad CEO Grainne Barron to find out more about this pioneering company.

Q1 Can you tell me some more about Viddyad and what service you provide?

Viddyad lets any business create their own video ad online in minutes

Q2 When was the company launched and how many employees have you now?

Viddyad launched in September 2013 at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco, we currently have 8 employees. Our development team are based in Dogpatch labs in Dublin while I am based in San Francisco along with the sales and marketing team.

Q3 Can you explain to our readers what you feel are the advantages of using video advertisements over more traditional methods?

Videos can have a direct impact on SEO, website traffic, sales and social media engagement. Video advertising is the fastest growing online format in the world with YOY growth of 46% as advertisers follow the migration of consumer attention online. Video is over 5 times more likely to convert than static images or text, making it perfect for businesses to promote themselves anywhere

Q4 The cost of video production has always been seen as prohibitive. What has Viddyad done to reduce these costs and make video advertisements a viable option for everyone?

At Viddyad its our goal to democratize online video Ad creation. The only way we can do that is by keeping our videos at an affordable price for small businesses. We are able to this this by forging partnerships with the worlds largest stock companies including Getty Images and Fotolia.

Q5 For anyone reading this that would like to make their own video Ad, can you explain the process for them. What do they need to get started and on average, how long the whole process take?

We’ve made the process as simple as possible. Users sign up, select the duration they would like their Ad to be 10,15,30 or 60 seconds long.  They can then select their content from millions of clips and images courtesy of our stock partners, add text, logo, music and publish their Ad. It’s really simple.

Q6 Can you explain the different pricing options available to people?

Users choose from 10,15, 30 or 60 seconds Ad duration and each ad includes a set amount of professional, rights cleared content, music and special effects. Users can add extra videos & images as they wish (or upload their own images for free). Ads start from just $99 for a: 10 second ad inclusive of all above. After a video Ad is purchased users can now add a voiceover to their video, we also help users run advertising campaigns after they’ve purchased their videos.

Q7 You mentioned that Viddyad has won some awards lately. Can you tell us more about that?

Recently Viddyad won the Innovation Award in the Creative Industries category at the Irish Times innovation award. Before that we were finalists in the World innovation category at SXSW Interactive accelerator. In October 2013 Viddyad won Spark of Genius at the Dublin Web Summit for being the most Disruptive Technology.

Q8 What’s the best way for people to get in contact with you?

We’re quite active on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn & Google+ so tweet us or give Niamh@viddyad.com  or Eamonn@viddyad.com  a mail and they’ll help you out. The Viddyad website is http://www.viddyad.com/
