Why will you do well?
Talkdesk will do well for a number of reasons. Talkdesk focuses on the product, with over 150 engineers, to always be offering our customers the best possible solutions. Talkdesk also focuses heavily on creating a culture where we attract the best talent. Being product-, and culture-first has allowed us to scale to over 1,400 customers and 300+ employees in the past few years.

Where are you based?
We have offices in San Francisco, Lisbon and Porto.
When was the company launched?
Talkdesk was launched in 2011.
What have been your biggest wins to date?
Some of our biggest wins have been rapid growth and launching AppConnect. AppConnect is the first enterprise app store that offers our customers even more integrations ranging from CRM solutions to AI-powered voice analytics. Also, Talkdesk made it onto the prestigious Gartner Magic Quadrant, being named a Visionary in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Contact Center as a Service, North America.
Who are you trying to attract to your product?
Businesses that are looking for an easy-to-use, cloud-based call center software solution that improves customer interactions while reducing costs. Talkdesk serves enterprise, mid-market and small businesses.
What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
Focusing on creating a strong product and positive work culture are two areas where founders should focus their energy.
Tell us about your team?
We have probably the best engineering team in Portugal. It’s not easy to join us. We look only for the best. We now have almost 300 employees, but we’ll be more a thousand by 2020. We aim to attract the best. In our Lisbon office there are people from almost a dozen countries, including USA, South Africa, Serbia, France, Sweden, Brazil and Switzerland, among others.
What are your plans for the future?
Lead the contact center space in Europe, by introducing new and disruptive solutions, which will enable an increase in customer satisfaction and a full digital journey with contact center solutions.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
According to Marco Costa (General Manager EMEA): “I really like all types of gadgets that take advantage of the new AI developments, namely machine learning, Natural Language Processing, image processing.”
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
According to Marco Costa (General Manager EMEA): “I really love traveling and engage with different cultures. I would really be in the front line of a real-time translation system that would bridge the gap between cultures and languages.”
