The Ultimate Social Media Planner
We look at this new book by Denise Whitmore. Denise is the owner and CEO of The Social Media Department and entrepreneur.
Denise has been working on this book for months and it’s evident that a lot of thought has gone into this. She launched this edition at the recent Social Media Fest held by Irish Tech News contributor and well know Irish entrepreneur Samantha Kelly AKA Tweetinggoddess. Denise spoke on the day about Instagram.
At this time of year we’re all thinking about what’s to come for the next year and this book illustrates a form of order you don’t come across very often. She has some how convincingly slipped in all sorts of extras and How to’s and on first glance you’re not fully aware of these extras until you fully read the book.
As a natural marketer she has been very adept at also honing her own sales and marketing into the book and offers discounts and downloads throughout that will likely become the start of a beautiful working relationship between the buyer and herself, all are optional of course.
I must emphasize, this is a BIG book and can look a little overwhelming at the beginning but Denise has explained very clearly how the book can be used to optimise yourself and your business. There are sections where you can work more clearly on your own business, like identifying your own Brand Persona and of course your Target Audience. Nice added bonus to the early part of the book is the benchmark area that you are given to add where you are at the end of 2023. Handy to keep for overall analytics. What I was really impressed with was the sample monthly marketing plan that was slotted rather innocently into the book 7 pages in. This is by far one of the most useful things I have seen a planner like this and certainly is very useful for business owners.
This book really does go further! There are very strong educational elements in writing and in QR form that help explain the where and why you should do each element.
The calendar / planner part comes in 2 sections. One is an overall 2 page overview of the month, followed by the weeks over 2 pages so you can go into more detail on each page. Useful dates to remember and hashtags have been added so you can plan ahead and create content as well.
At the end of every month there is a “End of Month Reflection” where you can outline campaign results, competitor analysis, Milestones achieved, Key takeaways, High performing content and Action plan for the following month.
