Great interview with Gwladys Pennec Community Manager of DoSpaceCoWorking presenting their new programme called Irish Nomads.

When is it on?

The beta-launch of the Irish Nomads will take place in August – September, for one month followed by the full launch this coming winter. To have the specific date, participants should contact us.

How many years has it been going?

It is a brand new programme, being launch for the first time this summer.

What was the inspiration to start it?

To enable Irish workers experience the Digital Nomad lifestyle is the major inspiration. Becoming a Digital Nomad isn’t the easiest thing to do, as it can mean loosing your benchmark, contacts, leaving your comfort zone, your relatives, to start a life as a globetrotter. However a lot of workers are becoming more and more interested in this lifestyle, and also have jobs that can enable it i.e. remote workers, startups, freelancers etc. It is for this reason Scaling Innovation Ltd, was created and wants to introduce the Irish Nomads programme to Irish people who would like to experience this trendy lifestyle.

What exciting things can people look forward to at it?

The programme itself is exciting! First of all the participants of our beta programme will get to work and explore Gran Canaria, Puerto de la Cruz. Puerto de la Cruz is an ideal location for relaxing working-holidays. They will have time to discover the culture, to explore the region as well as to get their work done in a suitable working environment. They will be living in a great Coliving space with like-minded foreigners, in which activities are proposed, such as surfing sessions, social events, courses and more.

Our programme is based on the ‘Co-Experience’, they will be living in a Coliving space, working in a Coworking space and be part of a Community.

What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?

In general, individual participants will get an amazing experience while keeping up their work commitments. Smaller startups might look to bring their entire company away for a retreat for 1-4 weeks, this is especially useful if they are all remote based workers.

Participants of the beta programme will benefit from a low cost as the initial programme is being subsidised by the founders. All participants no matter what environment they come from, freelancer or startup will be joining a community of entrepreneurs, startups, digital nomads, freelancers, …, with whom they will be able to exchange their ideas, to share advices, and maybe even to collaborate.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

My tip for people participating would be to follow their desire of exploring the world. Opting for the Irish Nomads programme will enhance your creativity, your communication skills and your network. And, when you are not forced to settle somewhere for work, why not taking advantage of it and travelling as much as possible?

How can people sign up?

To sign up for the beta-launch of the Irish Nomads in Gran Canaria, people should send an email here : [email protected]. Please note that there is only 4 to 6 places available for the beta programme, so I advise people not to wait too long before contacting us.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

The price is €875 for one month in Gran Canaria, Puerto de la Cruz. This price includes: flights, coliving accommodation (private room), dedicated coworking desk, social events, weekly and monthly activities, and a desk in a coworking space in Dublin for one month. Of special interest is the deals that we can do for 2 or more travelers traveling together or small startups looking for team retreats

Optional extras include; gym membership, sports lessons, transportation passes, courses, workshops, and more.

On full launch this coming winter we will be extending the options to include more destinations. NYC, Portugal and Thailand packages have already been finalised but we would look to potential digital nomaders to request other destinations. There will also be additional options around the duration of the programme or combining multiple programmes into a larger trip.
