Windows 10 Security Issues?

I have to say how impressed I am with Windows 10 since I upgraded my laptop to it three and a half weeks ago. It has delivered the perfect user experience, and it’s new browser Edge has performed way beyond my wildest expectations. Sadly Microsoft is slowly unravelling all the goodwill it has earned, since it decided to stop informing us what is contained in Windows 10 updates.

In the past Microsoft used to inform administrators and users about updates so you would know what to expect, and Microsoft had gotten us all used to Patch Tuesday.

The second Tuesday of each month was Patch Tuesday and  we would be issued Windows updates along with a description of the updates, but since Windows 10 was launched last month this has changed. There have already been three Windows 10 updates and Microsoft has been keeping fairly silent about them. What we do know is that the second update released was designed to replace the first update.

Microsoft commented “As we have done in the past, we post KB articles relevant to most updates which we’ll deliver with Windows as a service. Depending on the significance of the update and if it is bringing new functionality to Windows customers, we may choose to do additional promotion of new features as we deploy them.” 

Surely if Microsoft are trying to move users over to what is a fantastic OS, they should be transparent with its updates. Why would you upgrade to an OS when you have no idea about when the updates will come and what they will fix. Sadly Patch Tuesday and the transparency Microsoft used to supply us no longer exists, which makes the decision to move to Windows 10 not as simple as it should be.
