WhatsApp now has 600m Active Users

When Facebook paid $19 billion for WhatsApp, many gasped. Mark Zuckerberg even claimed it was worth more. It was hard to agree when the news first broke, but given some time looking at the figures, things became more clear.

Facebook believe that WhatsApp can become one of the very few services to reach 1 billion active users. Once they start charging users $0.99 to use the service after their first year, well, you can do the maths!

Can WhatsApp really reach 1 billion users? The messaging App has doubled its user base year on year and added over 100 million users since the last figures were announced in April. It seems like it’s only a matter of time before they will be celebrating hitting that billion mark.
