Europe’s biggest technology conference and PodcastOne, the leading US advertiser-supported on-demand digital audio network, today announced an exclusive podcast partnership. The deal will see live on-stage content from Web Summit curated into podcast episodes.
From Sophia the Robot to European Commissioner Margrethe Vestager, Web Summit attracts world class speakers. Audio from these talks will now be available on PodcastOne’s “Web Summit” network. Episodes will be in six categories including “Business”, “Games” and “Tech”. The network gives people the chance to relive Web Summit conferences or experience them for the first time, audibly.
Web Summit CEO and co-founder, Paddy Cosgrave, said: “Attending a Web Summit event is an experience unlike any other, and our aim is to share this with as many people as possible. Thanks to our new partnership with PodcastOne, the voices of some of the most influential thinkers and leaders of our time are now at your fingertips.”
PodcastOne Chairman and CEO, Norman Pattiz, said, “Gathering the greatest minds in everything from technology to finance, startups, media and more, Web Summit’s 70,000 attendees demonstrate the demand for this content. We’re excited to enable even more people around the world to experience the inspiring and informative presentations produced by the Web Summit team. Plus it’s a great addition to our growing business category offerings. We couldn’t ask for a better podcast partner.”
The partnership also includes audio content from Web Summit’s other international technology conferences; Collision from Canada, MoneyConf from Ireland and RISE from Hong Kong. Episodes will be available for streaming and download from PodcastOne.com, the PodcastOne app, and Apple Podcasts.
Zara McGrath, head of syndication at Web Summit, said: “Web Summit creates highly curated content focusing on the intersection of tech and society. This is a great opportunity for PodcastOne subscribers and new listeners to hear from global leaders, and join the conversation.”
This year’s Web Summit takes place in Portugal, hosting more than 70,000 attendees from over 170 countries including 1,200 speakers.
