Virgin Media today confirmed it would increase its high street footprint over the next twelve months by opening further retail stores across Ireland.
Virgin Media is exploring new retail opportunities that showcase the possibilities of the digital home in some of Ireland’s major shopping destinations. The company, which has already opened stores in Limerick, Cork and Dublin over the past two years, is now adding Stephens Green Shopping Centre Dublin, Eyre Square Shopping Centre Galway and Georges Street Waterford, bringing the total number of own-branded stores to six. Virgin Media has plans to further increase its retail presence 2017.
Paul Farrell, Vice President at Virgin Media, said: “Our continued focus on quality and outstanding service has helped us build a strong customer base. By the end of 2017 we will have a high street presence in five of Ireland’s key cities, allowing us to drive further growth whilst communicating the benefits of Virgin Media’s products to consumer’s first-hand. We’re passionate about bringing content and technology to life and having a strong store network will provide our customers with a truly ‘Virgin’ experience at every touch point.”
The stores will be operated by Virgin Media’s new retail partner, TCCL Limited, and will offer a full suite of sales and service across it connectivity, communications and entertainment portfolio.
Con Lehane, Director of TCCL, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for TCCL to partner with a world class brand and create a chain of experiential stores throughout Ireland. These staffed sales facilities will showcase Virgin Media’s quad-play offering of broadband, TV, home phone and mobile. This partnership has already created 15 new positions and as more high street stores open, it will create a small number of local jobs, with staff receiving intensive product and customer service training.”
