The addition of IP Transit, Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) and IP VPN capability enables Viatel to provide a full range of data services to Ireland, UK and European based customers and locations. New and existing customers of Viatel can experience significant benefits with a greater choice of routes for IP transit with both full transit and partial transit options.

Viatel as part of the Digiweb Group, provides connectivity and ICT solutions tailored specifically for larger enterprises, public sector, wholesale and carrier customers across Europe. It’s fibre optic backbone network connects 8 countries, 35 main cities, over 120 European data centres and has metro fibre reach into the major carrier houses, data centres and the main Internet Exchanges. They have also recently announced a major upgrade of their Irish network.

Utilising Viatel’s own 8,500 km high capacity fibre network infrastructure, customers will now see the benefit of dealing with one company who has a pan-European reach. This investment is a significant milestone for Viatel, as part of our overall strategy to become the telecommunications provider of choice for European enterprise and wholesale customers seeking connectivity on a pan-European basis” said Dave Cribbs, Viatel Commercial Director.

Dave Cribbs continued “What sets Viatel aside in the marketplace is our technical expertise, we are proud to have within the company, a highly experienced in-house engineering team to design and deliver these new servicesThis is just one part of our planned investment as Viatel expect to roll out additional IP-based services and locations throughout the year, which will further enhance our service capabilities across Europe.
