Metabolic fitness platform Ultrahuman announced the launch of their newest wearable tech, the Ultrahuman Ring, this Tuesday. The ring, wearable as a regular piece of jewellery, tracks metabolism and will measure movement, sleep, and the body’s energy dynamics.
This will work in conjunction with intelligent activity or recommendations for recuperating after exercise, in order to balance and control the user’s health, says Ultrahuman. The ring will have a minimalist look, with a titanium and tungsten body, and no screens or vibrations, avoiding a major pitfall among wearable tech – constant notifications. Instead, details can be checked through Ultrahuman’s smartphone app.
The ring comes with a 5-day battery life and strives to focus on comfortability and health monitoring.
The ring will build upon the existing suite of biomarker trackers that they use to monitor health. The Ultrahuman Ring works standalone or in combination with their existing glucose tracking platform, Ultrahuman M1, to offer users even deeper insights on their health.
Mohit Kumar, Founder and CEO of Ultrahuman said: “We have always believed in the power of biomarkers in terms of their ability to make health optimization more efficient. With the Ultrahuman ring and a new suite of metabolic biomarkers, you can now understand not just what’s affecting your glucose metabolism but also how to act on the insights in an efficient way”.
“For example, you could figure how much of your glucose metabolism is affected by the lack of sleep vs the food itself. This is a phenomenal leap in the world of biomarkers and allows us to study various factors around human health in a unique and much more impactful way than ever”, Mr Kumar continued.
Some insights that will be available with the Ultrahuman ring would involve understanding your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenesis), your sleep efficiency, and its effect on glucose metabolism and food’s impact on recovery and performance.
The Ultrahuman Ring will be available for pre-order globally from the 7th of July 2022 and shipping will start August 2022 onwards.
Ultrahuman is a smart tech company that strives to better the health of its users via the use of biomarkers and fitness tracking. It was started by Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal in India. While training at MMA, Mr Kumar observed athletes training smartly via the usage of data, recovery tools and protocols. This inspired him to get together with Mr Singhal to develop Ultrahuman, where they felt they could make the journey of fitness for people more personalized and impactful.
