On Friday, 15 June, over 50 Liverymen of the City of London’s Worshipful Company of World Traders are coming to Dublin to discuss the future of UK-Irish Trade post-Brexit. The delegation, led by this year’s Master World Trader, Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli, are holding an all day trade symposium at Iveagh House, supported by a variety of Irish businesses, as well as the IDA.
The symposium title is “Technology & Trade”, the World Trader’s theme this year. The topics under discussion include the outlook for the Irish & UK economies, how technology might help with Brexit issues, and global trade opportunities for both countries.
The delegation has social plans too, with tours of Dublin sights, as well as two networking dinners. It is no coincidence that the conference falls the day before Bloomsday, as all the delegates have arranged to walk through Dublin celebrating Joyce on Saturday.
