Interesting interview with Xavier Litt, who is speaking at Beyond IoT today at CIT in Cork.
1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
I’m the founder of Skylads, a Marketing Tech company that helps advertisers increase their ROI thanks to Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). More generally, I’m interested in all things digital & how to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence for a better future.
How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
Last year was good. We took some time to work on our product and built a self-service version of our Marketing A.I. software. We would have liked tech adoption and in particular A.I. adoption to be much faster in 2019! Many businesses talk about AI, but too often the discussion stays on a theoretical level, and people don’t usually know that A.I.-powered solutions already exist today. We’re educating our prospects so that, in 2020, they focus as much on the theoretical aspects as on actually implementing tech.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to do more A.I. education in 2020 so that marketers realise that AI is not just a great sci-fi material, but that there are actual solutions that exist today that can improve their day-to-day life & business results.
What will you be talking about at this event?
At the BeyondIoT event, I will talk about Human-Machines collaboration and why the last 20 years of Artificial Intelligence use for the game of chess is a great foresight of what’s to come for business use of AI. I’m strongly optimistic about the potential of AI for mankind and I will share some ideas to rethink our relationship to AI & machines in general in order to best benefit from them.
What inspired you to attend it?
I’ve always been fond of new technologies and thinking of the next frontier in terms of innovation. I try to always keep a learner’s mindset and am eager to discover more about tech. When my friend Brandon Donnelly told me about BeyondIoT and all the exciting thought leaders attending, I knew I had to be there.
Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
I’m mostly following AdExchanger & ExchangeWire to get specialized news about the advertising & marketing tech industries.
How can people find out more about what you are working on?
People can find out more about our work by visiting the Skylads website (www.skylads.com) and follow me on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
I’m always happy to have a good conversation or debate around the benefits v. Threats of AI. If anyone wants to discuss, feel free to come and talk to me at the event or reach out on the web.
