Become a transformational organization, by Nick Seneca Jankel, Reviewed

By Simon Cocking review of Becoming a transformational organization, by  Nick Seneca Jankel, Cambridge-educated medic, philosopher, keynote speaker and co-founder of SwitchOnNow.

Become a Transformational Organization is a short but powerful book that gives practical advice on how to structure an enterprise and develop its culture to galvanise agility without losing stability. Through his book, Jankel explores the behaviours and systems of modern organisations that all senior business leaders will identify with and reveals eye-opening insights of why they are doomed to fail in the coming years unless they transform their organisational structure and culture. He then provides practical steps leaders and organisations can take to be fit for the future – a neuroscience-inspired blueprint that revels how to thrive in today’s digital, disrupted and damaged world.

Becoming a transformational organization, Reviewed

Coming in at 93 pages this is a short book for sure. When the kids saw the title they thought it was about becoming a transgender person, but it’s almost certainly not about this, though you never know, perhaps the insights could be applied there too. Depending on how busy your CEO or management team are, the book’s brevity might not be a major obstacle. There are some interesting insights in it, and perhaps if you act on, and follow through with them, then this might help your organisation.

His youtube channel is active with new posts regularly uploaded, which can be a useful way to engage with some of his concepts and ideas too, as you can then listen to them as podcasts too – when working from home, to screen out the little darlings perhaps!?

In this current, coronavirus driven times, this book offers some good insights, especially as we have now, whether we wanted to or not, fallen into a live experiment that no one expected us to be undertaking. As more and more things move to online and remote based, this book has perhaps come at a good time for us all. Check it out, and as mentioned, it’s not a long read either.
