Interesting interview with Frédéric Boy, Widmee CEO & Co-Founder surrounding the impact of PSD2 and GDPR regulations.
1 min pitch for what you are doing now?
I’m the CEO of Widmee, a software editor specialized in e-marketing and sales automation solutions for financial institutions.
How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
Last year was a great year for Widmee in terms of revenue and activity. The team has grown bigger with the addition of a few talented developers. Also, we’ve started working on a new project I can’t tell much about for the moment but things have been really exciting.
What are your plans for the future?
We are looking forward to announcing our new project in the coming months. All lights are green, we are just awaiting the official “go” from french regulators. This new activity will start as an addition to our usual business but we expect it to become more and more important in the coming years.
What will you be talking about at this event?
Widmee is one of AXA’s major digital partners in France. That’s the reason why I think I have witnessed the major impact of PSD2 and GDPR regulations on banks and insurance companies in France. They’re moving in all directions (releasing open APIs, acquiring aggregators or pure-players) and it’s really interesting to analyse.
What inspired you to attend it?
We were partners of the event 2 years ago and it was a great moment. This year we wanted to come back with the idea to share our vision of this fast-moving market and learn from other fintechs experience.
Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
I follow most of the major US influencers, from Jim Marous to Ron Shevlin. A few French too, like Patrice Bernard.
How can people find out more about what you are working on?
They can check out our website www.widmee.com especially the blog part where I try to post on a regular basis.
Established in the Bordeaux region since its creation in 2009, Widmee has become a privileged partner of digital innovation for major French accounts, mainly in the financial sector.
First designer and developer of web applications, then software publisher from 2015, it is through contact with our customers that we built our offer. Their need to dematerialize their business processes has guided our positioning.
