The Business of Sport and Fitness, StartUp Ballymun 26th April free seminar

StartUp Ballymun’s next seminar will bring together a group of entrepreneurs to share their knowledge about setting up and running their own companies in the area of sports and fitness.

The free seminar will take place on 26 April 2017 between 4.30pm and 8pm in the Ballymun Civic Centre.

“We present a diverse group of business people all united under the theme of Sport and Fitness” says Liam Barry, Economic Development Officer at Dublin City Council.

“This is the third in the series of StartUp Ballymun seminars. These entrepreneurs will tell the audience how they realised their ambitions and started and grew their companies.”

StartUp Ballymun is an initiative of the Dublin City Council economic development unit in Ballymun which promotes enterprise in the area.

Speakers

Rob Forbes is a professional rugby coach with 20 years’ experience coaching at all levels of the game with men, women and underage rugby. Career highlights have included coaching the Leinster Women’s rugby team and involvement with the Irish Women’s squad during 2014/15. Robert is a co-founder of the Irish Rugby Institute, a professional rugby coaching company based in Dublin.

Kick Start Movements (KSM) has been developed by former Dublin football players, Micheal McCarthy and William Lowry. Their vision is to teach and coach pre-school children about nutrition and physical education in a fun, effective manner.

Playing tennis at both junior and senior levels for Ireland, Tennis4kids CEO and founder Annette Smith knows exactly what playing tennis means. It’s not about the winning, rather it’s the confidence that a young person gets when playing tennis and the love of sport.

Sean Boland MSc founded his physiotherapy practice, Be Well Physio, in 2012 and as Clinical Director has steered the company to build long term relationships with rugby, GAA and basketball teams alongside local communities and patients. Be Well Physio now operates from 4 clinics in Dublin and in the greater Dublin area.

Yvonne Brady is the Founder and MD of EVB Sport. The company was established to provide women with a range of sportswear specifically designed to provide support to the pelvic floor muscles. Her products are available from her website, and are stocked in Elverys, Intersport and Intersport UK. She is extremely proud of creating a product that looks and feels great, which works and that women love.

The event will be moderated by Billy Linehan of Celtar business consultants.
