The 10 events worth attending at TechStars’ Startup Week Dublin

TechStars’ Startup Week Dublin, powered by Dublin City Council, has announced the much-anticipated schedule for the 19th – 23rd of November. Here are the 10 events which are worth an RSVP.

Base Camp

When: Everyday, 10:00 – 17:00

Entrepreneurship 101 – Everyday

Diversity and Inclusion Track – Tuesday

Future Track  – Wednesday

Design Track – Thursday

Developer Track – Friday

Basecamp is the Heart of Startup Week. Each day will be dedicated to a track and participants can pre book a 30 minute morning mentor session with some of Dublin’s leading folks in investment, business strategy, design and much much more. They can then enjoy lunchtime inspiration talks and join the afternoon workshops to get hands-on with the topics of the day.

Startup Week Dublin Base Camp Lunch and Learn with Eamonn Carey MD Techstars and Natalie Novick tech.eu

When: Monday, 19th November @ 13:00 – 13:45

Join a spirited discussion about all things entrepreneurship, growth, and product with Eamonn Carey MD at Techstars London in an interview with Natalie Novick from Tech.Eu and our Track Captain for Entrepreneurship 101

Startup Grind with Gavan Walsh of iCabbi

When: Monday, 19th November, @ 18:30 – 22:00

In this special Startup Week Dublin edition of Startup Grind, serial entrepreneur, Gavan Walsh of iCabbi will discuss their recent investment and how he has launched several businesses, in eCommerce, event management, and even Christmas tree sales.

StartAbility – Entrepreneurship for People with Disabilities

When: Tuesday, 20th November @ 18:00 – 20:30

StartAbility is an event for people with disabilities who are interested in entrepreneurship. It is organised by Rehab Group, waytoB and L’Arche, as part of Startup Week Dublin.

The employment rate for persons with a disability in Ireland is only 30.2%. Entrepreneurship was identified by the National Disability Authority as a key approach to address this imbalance.

Story and the Startup

When: Wednesday, November 21 @ 18:30 – 20:00

A star studded panel explores using storytelling skills at the heart of a startup to help build company narrative, team morale, brand development, and product strategy.

Mediacon and Facebook in association with Techstars Startup Week present an event to bring the tech and storytelling words together.

Future of Business – Enterprise with positive impact?

When: Thursday, November 22nd @ 18:00 – 20:00

The future of business is one of impact.  Positive impact that not only benefits the company but also the natural environment, local communities and people at large. This event will convene 2 panels of experts to discuss how companies can integrate values and generate meaningful impact into their business plans, how to scale such impact on a global level and discuss how more people can leave a lasting mark through enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Startup Week Base Camp with Mind Over Matter – Design Lunch and Learn Panel

When: Thursday, November 22 @ 13:15 – 14:00

Take a pew and absorb the insights from two of Ireland’s leading startup founders Noreen Doyle CEO of Biltong and Gavin O’Reilly CEO of Silver Spear Gin on how they used Design to get their company to invest-able, award-winning, customer loving levels.

Design and Innovation

When: Friday, November 23rd, @ 11:00 – 12:30

Come along to the Innovation Academy to hear from Innovators and Design Thinkers from the ADAPT Research Centre about how to incorporate Design Thinking principles when planning a new product or service.

Startup Week Base Camp Workshop – Your Code for Beating the Start-up Blues

When: Friday, November 23rd @ 14:00 – 16:00

A workshop is hosted by Tech For Good Dublin as part of Startup Week Dublin. We’re offering founders and developers practical steps to keep their body, mind, and spirit in gear.

A Special Friday Brekkie with Intercom’s John Collins

When: Friday, November 23rd @ 8:00 – 10:00

A special edition of the 1st Friday Brekkie for Startup Week Dublin!

Following the same informal, interactive and popular format, don’t miss the opportunity to network and gain insights from fellow members of the startup system over great coffee and croissants!

Special guest speaker, John Collins, Director of Content for Intercom, will discuss his decision to move from journalism and the skills he brought to a fast-growing tech company.
