TechConnect-Live’s dedicated Jobs Expo to help fill thousands of open vacancies

Over 3,000 delegates have already registered to attend the inaugural TechConnect-Live Conference & Exhibition at the RDS on May 25th, 2016. Over 200 speakers will address an audience of investors, start- ups, seasoned entrepreneurs and an array of top industry executives from leading global and Irish companies. 13 separate seminars will cover topics such as Fintech, Medtech, Energytech, Gametech, and the Internet of Things.

The Irish tech sector is growing rapidly with thousands of openings predicted to arise in the coming years. However, the sector is already suffering a shortage of IT and multi-lingual talent. In a recruitment market as competitive as the current one, businesses of all sizes – from SMEs right up to the multinationals – must be proactive in seeking new and innovative ways to find and attract top talent. The TechConnect Jobs Expo aims to give graduates and professionals the best opportunity to engage with potential employers all under one roof on one day.

Technology-related roles account for half of the most in-demand jobs in Ireland. The combination of inward investment wins by the IDA and a burgeoning indigenous tech sector is creating increased demand for computer systems administrators, computer support specialists, software engineers, data communications analysts, information systems managers and network systems analysts. Sales managers topped the list of most in-demand jobs, followed by software quality assurance engineers and testers, and customer service representatives.

The hardest to fill IT roles include computer programmers, computer support specialists, software engineers (applications), network systems analysts and mathematical technicians.

TechConnect Live will offer employers a unique opportunity to meet graduates, career professionals and supporting industry/academic associations. This year’s event will have over 1,500 live jobs on offer from the employers in the RDS on the day, both in Ireland and overseas, as well as internships, graduate training programmes and the chance to explore your further study options.
