Tech Life Balance takes place in The Building Block Sligo at 6.15pm on Thursday 30th May
This is the third in a series of events in the North West over the past 15 months.
More companies are choosing the North West as a location to set up their HQ’s. They’re finding a better work/life balance for their staff, lower attrition rates, lower cost of office space, but most importantly they are finding the talent. More and more people are looking to leave the traffic and housing issues behind for a life in the West. Tech Life Balance events are a great way to showcase the growing tech community here and the roles on offer.
The event is a chance to meet the site leads/CEO’s of companies like LiveTiles, Overstock, E3 Retail and others. They will discuss the technology being used, the careers on offer and the reasons they are now based in Sligo. We’ll also have some great local craft beer from The White Hag Brewery and food from some of Sligo’s newest café’s/restaurants. The second half of the event will focus on Blockchain as part of Blockchain Ireland week.
In times gone by, the idea of leaving a city for a regional location would mean a step down in your career. That has now changed. These new tech firms who have set up in Sligo have some fantastic opportunities to work with cutting edge technology, with teams based all over the world. These roles range from Machine learning, DevOps, Front End Developer, Sales Development- multilingual, customer success managers and loads more.
Elaine Murphy – EMEA site lead at LiveTiles, Lucia Macari- Development Team lead at Overstock, Chris Taylor- Team lead at E3 Retail, Kieran MgGowan – Medici Land Governance, YoungWhi Cho – Steamhunt with more to be announced.
If you’re thinking about a move west or looking for a change of pace, come check out the event and find out why more companies are choosing Sligo. It might be the best two hours you’ve ever spent! Arrive early for some great craft beer and a chance to network. Introduce yourself to the site leads as all of these companies have made key hires at our last two events.
