RS816  offers  flexible  scalability  up  to  eight  drives  for  up  to  64TB  in  total  raw  storage capacity with Synology RX415 expansion unit while delivering advanced computing capability and robust application suite.

“In addition to its impressive agility , RS816  is flexible  in  terms of  its compact size and scalability,  making  the rackmount server  able to  easily fit into  fast growing business environments  without  taking pains to adjust to  changing scenarios and storage demands,”  said Jason Fan, Product Manager at Synology Inc.

RS816 is equipped with an upgraded dual-core CPU with  hardware encryption engine,  making it possible to  reach 148 MB/s reading and 81 MB/s writing  speeds and  presenting  an impressive  142%  increase  in its encrypted writing performance  compared  to its predecessor.  RS816 supports  dual 1GbE LAN failover, plus the hot-swappable design for instant drive replacement,  ensuring maximum uptime and minimum mean time to repair (MTTR), saving business immense time and resources on storage management and disaster recovery.
RS816 runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM), the most advanced and intuitive operating system for network-attached storage devices that offers a  wide  range  of  applications  from  backup  to  multimedia  for  home  and  personal  uses.  While  earning  the  highest  overall  ranking  in  the  10th TechTarget  Quality  Awards  survey  for  mid-range  NAS  systems,  Synology  has  also  received  numerous  media  accolades,  including  PCR’s Networking Vendor of the Year.

“Businesses today  are faced with  increasing  storage needs” said Michael Wang, Product Manager at Synology Inc. “RS3617xs is an enterprise NAS  solution  equipped  with  advanced  technologies and comprehensive  applications  for  large and expanding  businesses  to  handle massive storage capacities.”

Equipped with  a quad-core 3.3 GHz CPU, RS3617xs delivers  high  performance at over 3,263  MB/s sequential  throughput  and 333,941 IOPS under  a  RAID 5 configuration with  10GbE Link Aggregation enabled. RS3617xs comes with dual PCIe slots  that supports up   to  two 10GbE Network Interface Cards (NIC); maximising bandwidth and meeting high performance requirements for data-intensive applications.
RS3617xs is powered by a robust Btrfs file system, bringing snapshot technology with faster point-in-time recovery of data while preventing data corruption and ensuring high levels of data integrity. The  RS3617xs  is  designed  to  meet  the  need  for  future  growth.  Synology’s  expansion  units  RX1217/RX1217RP  offer  an  easy  way  to immediately  expand  up  to  36  drives  by  providing  12  additional  drive  slots  each.  RS3617xs  also  provides  seamless  storage  solutions  for virtualisation environments including VMware, Citrix, and Hyper-V.

RS3617xs runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM), the most advanced and intuitive operating system for network -attached storage devices that offers a wide range of applications  to bring better productivity at work.  While earning the highest overall ranking  in  the 10thTechTarget  Quality Awards survey for mid-range NAS systems, Synology has also received numerous media accolades, including PCR’s Networking Vendor of the Year.
