The Swiss-wide initiative Circular Economy Transition has opened the call for projects for its second edition of the Circular Economy Incubator. For the three-month incubation program from February to May 2020, Circular Economy Transition is looking for 28 early-stage projects from all over Switzerland with circular business models – meaning solutions that are based on circular activities?like resell, reuse, repair, and refurbish.
During the three month incubation program in early 2020, the selected entrepreneurs work on developing their minimum viable product (MVP) and validating their business model, supported by one-to-one mentoring sessions with experienced coaches, workshops, networking sessions, and access to the Swiss circular startup ecosystem and a pool of experts within the field of Circular Economy.
For the selected startups, the incubation phase takes place in their respective city at the Impact Hubs in Bern, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich. The application deadline is December 15. Interested early-stage startups with a circular business model can apply here. Additionally, the four Impact Hubs are inviting everyone interested in the program to an information event:
Impact Hub Lausanne: November 4th Impact Hub Bern: November 5th Impact Hub Zurich: November 6th Impact Hub Geneva: November 7th
The CET Incubator program is facilitated by Impact Hub Switzerland. Among the 26 startups that successfully went through the first edition of the CE Incubator earlier this year were sharing platforms such as sharealook, Bibou’tic, and la manivelle, and startups such as La Corde A Linge, Kompotoi?and Terrabiom, that are closing biological loops and bring back nutrients to the environment.
Besides the support received in business development, the CE Incubator also enabled the projects to increase their visibility off- and online and to showcase their solutions at important industry events such as this year’s two conferences by the Swiss movement for a circular economy, Circular Economy Switzerland.
About Circular Economy Transition: Circular Economy Transition is a pioneer initiative that aims to accelerate the transition of Switzerland to a Circular Economy. It currently takes place in 5 Swiss cities – Basel, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne and Zurich. In close collaboration with Impact Hub Switzerland, sanu durabilitas?and with the support of MAVA foundation, UBS and Movetia, this initiative contributes to drive the circular thinking for the future of business, policy making and society.
Apart from the Incubator program, Circular Economy Transition organizes monthly community events?on the topic of Circular Economy and operates the Business Lab, a platform for corporates and SMEs that supports them in identifying circular business potential, optimizing their value chains and prototyping new solutions and products.
