Startup Weekend Kicks Off in Galway This Evening

As part of Global Entrepreneurship week, four cities Galway, Limerick, Cork and Dublin are running a Startup Weekend. Things kick off in Galway this weekend with the three other events taking place on November 21st – 23rd.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model. During the 54 hour event, anyone can pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and embark on three days of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

These events will form part of Global Startup Battle. Some stats on the Global Startup Battle are below:

More than 200 simultaneous events and programs over 10 days

170 events in 40 countries

1,000 video entries and over 150,000 votes

60 million eyes on GSB in just 2 weeks

Bank Of Ireland have sponsored all 4 Startup Weekend events. More details about the agenda for the events, the judges and the mentors can be found on the following links:
