Startup Weekend Education Returns to Dublin

Startup Weekend Education is back. Ireland’s self-starters have another opportunity to be the change they want to see in education. Last year saw entrepreneurs from a plethora of backgrounds form teams to tackle multiple challenges and gaps in the systems. Pitches were made on the Friday night and the following two days would see the teams battle it out, with Hello Coder coming out on top – their take-it-home app impressing judges on the final day.

Sponsored by Bank of Ireland and supported by Gene Murphy, Startup Weekend Education is run by the Learning Tech Labs team of Amy Keith, Katalina Aguilar and David Pollard. Things have come full circle, as Learning Tech Labs was sparked at last year’s #SWEDUdub. Having grown to 1,300 active members and covering topics from Open Education to the Neuroscience of Learning, the meetups have cultivated a culture of dialogue and collaboration within Ireland’s learning technology, startup, and educational communities.

This year’s event takes place in DoSpace and its  judging panel is made up of Alan Maguire, Versari’s founding partner, Owen Laverty of Maynooth University and Head of Digital Strategy at CJ Fallon, Martyn Farrows.

Early bird tickets are available today and the event takes place on November 25 – 27.
