Describe the company – the elevator pitch …
I currently have a single starter product called balloonHop which is set to the beginning of a line of gaming products which I’m currently working, I plan to move on from just Mobile gaming to other platforms like VR and console gaming such as the XBOX or Playstation.

How are you different?
Well the products currently being designed and in place on the App Store are completely of an original design so I’ve never seen anything like them on the App Store, which of course is a big aspect of business, finding your niche in the market. The products being designed are also aimed towards a large age group as gaming is a growing industry in the world, seen on sites such as Youtube.

Why will the company / product do well?
The current product will do well as I’m growing the competitive nature of the game, to do this I’ve added in an in game currency called bH coins which the user has to build up by playing the game to then buy a new design for their balloon, I’m also regularly updating the store with new designs, and I’m aiming to make new designs based on real life events to keep the game up to date. We’re also working on leaderboards for highscores and coin balances to give the player the initiative to play more and get their name on the list.
Where are you based?
The project now is currently based in Waterford, in the south east of Ireland. Very small office, everything is currently being ran from my bedroom off my MacBook.
When was the product launched?
The product, balloonHop was launched on the 12th of March this year.

What have been your biggest wins to date?
Since release I’ve been invited to places such as London and Dublin to talk about the app, London unfortunately fell through due to funding and then Dublin is soon to come. I’ve also been in contact with a few more teenage entrepreneurs and programmers and I’ve since been recommended to the Digital Youth Council of Ireland to be on the council, which is quite a prestigious group of promising youth in Ireland.
On a statistical basis balloonHop has since release and 2 updates got hundreds of downloads and a healthy amount of players going onto it each day.
What type of people (market segment) are you trying to attract to your product?
Considering the rise in interest in the gaming industry I’d consider that we’re specifically aiming more towards the young teens than any other age but there is an interest in gaming that goes right up to the 30’s.
Tell us about your team?
I’m not sure if this is something to embrace or to be embarrassed about but it’s currently a one man team, I’m the sole person behind it all. Although I am in the market for a graphic designer as that’s my weak point in game design, so there could be a future addition to the team.
What are you long term plans for your product / company?
The long term plans are that I hope to eventually move onto developing games for platforms such as XBOX and Playstation but I still have work to do on the current mobile games to get them out on the market.
What are your favourite tech gadgets?
Since I develop off my MacBook and test on my iPhone those 2 would have to be up there as my favourites because I use them more than any other.
What tech gadgets do you wish you could use to help you?
I would love to use a more comprehensive graphic designing program just to work on my graphic design skills. I’d also like to use VR as it’s currently booming in the gaming industry and I’d love to get into it although I’m aware to develop for a platform like that I’d need more than just myself.
