What we were originally expecting to be the Z1 Mini which then became the Z1 f in Japan has finally been announced for sale in Europe as the Z1 Compact. What’s sure to make this a popular smartphone though is that fact that it retains the vast majority of the specs from the larger Z1 with only the screen dropping to a 4.3″ 720p resolution unit and the battery dropping from 3000 to 2300mAh.
The key specs are:
- Snapdragon 800 processor
- 2300mAh battery
- 16GB internal storage expandable via microSD
- Adreno 330 GPU
- Android 4.2.2
- 2GB’s of RAM
- 341 ppi screen density
- 20.7MP camera
You can take a closer look at the device in Sony’s usual overly dramatic unveiling video below. The phone should be available from next month and is appearing for pre order on some sites already.
