Be it Instagram trends, Snapchat stories or Facebook and Twitter feed; social media has become a prominent factor in our life. Business firms could walk out as a sole beneficiary of our excessive use of social media. All they need are the right strategies to handle their social media accounts and maximize the reach of their brand.

So, as a business firm, if you want to make sure that your social media presence reaps you the desired benefits then take a look at the following tips.

1. Be Selective In Following Trends

Following trends is hands down one of the best ways to engage with social media audience. This is turning out to be a go-to method for most of the business firms is to get the maximum attention. However, you should not just blindly follow the suit of whatever trend is going on.

You have to filter out trends which are irrelevant to your brands and stick to those which can potentially help you to grow business. The best approach to that would be hiring a social media manager who is well-fed with the social media world.

2. Proofread Your Posts

Imagine how embarrassing it would be if you pin a tweet and after it gets viral and all, you hit upon the reality that the tweet has some grammatical or spelling mistake? And just think, before you rectify your mistake, somebody captures a screenshot. It can’t get any worse than that.

It will signal irresponsibility from your part to your audience. Some people tend to find this small error so frustrating that they will never turn to your account again. This is one of those minor mistakes which come with big fallout. So, be aware of that.

3. Add Social Media Icons To Your Emails

When you send emails, make sure you have attached an icon of your social media account. People are likely to feel curious and will, more often than not, end up clicking that button. Naturally, the act will very much account for a boost in your social media audience.

4. Use Hashtags Wisely

The hashtag is a popular mean to drive traffic on your social media account. But again, just like trends, you have to iron out what hashtag represents your brand the best. Don’t stuff the hashtags which have no relevance to your business at all. People are prone to find irrelevant hashtags irritating.

5. Optimize Social Media Accounts

“Keywords are key to success on social media.” – Adam Gill, CEO at MHR Writer.

Optimize your social media accounts by using keywords. Get the list of phrases which are concerned with your business and keep using them in your posts frequently. Make sure you don’t force keywords which misfit in your publication. Use keywords which naturally adjust in.

6. Interact Like Human Not Machine

It has become outdated now to maintain a stern, formal tone of your social media accounts. Current trends show that people find it easy to relate to a personality than a robot. It will give your account a personal touch. People won’t feel like they are talking to a machine.

  • Unmask your social media team by time to time sharing their photos. You can share office photos or random picnic trip photos. In whatever way you find feasible, by all accounts, spell out the background faces.
  • Maintain an informal tone on your social media accounts. Gone are the days when you could not go beyond a minimal set of vocabulary. Crack a joke where you see the opportunity or sneak in a funny smiley where it is due.

7. Use Scheduling Apps

Being a business firm, you have to keep yourself active by any mean. There is a research that tells how often to post on social media forums. According to it, fifteen times a day publishing is mandatory.

Of course, this will sweep away a lot of your time. Luckily, we have the right technology in place, in the name of scheduling apps, to deal with this headache. So, prefer using scheduling apps. Plan your posts a week ahead and schedule them at the time when they have the maximum opportunity to gain engagements. Don’t take too much liberty with this luxury by planning one too many posts.

8. Conduct Question Answer Session Once In A While

Encourage your audience to ask questions. Better still if you dedicate a particular portion of a week to the question-answer session. Announce your availability in advance so that more and more people can join you. You can use the “Go Live” feature of Facebook to do that.

The viewers will be pumped up with excitement, and if you answer their questions mentioning their names, it will mean a lot to them. It is also an excellent way to get firsthand feedback. You might even get negative feedback during this activity, deal it keeping the golden rule of “the customer is always right” in your mind.

9. Share Relevant Content

Since social media has all kinds of content one can imagine, it is not uncommon to get distracted. All of us have seen business firms sharing the stuff which gives no value to their own followers. The result is a waste of resources and time.

Getting your statistics in order is imperative. Use analytics to peek inside the heart of your audience and craft your content which hits nothing but bullseye.

10. Videos Are Key

A highly engaged social media account must have a lot of visual clips on it. Video content has become incredibly popular in recent years. While written content has somewhat retained its importance. The clip should also make it to your priority list. There are multiple advantages of sharing visual segments:

  • Videos are good at educating people about your product.
  • Since social media platforms themselves opt for videos, it delivers you a greater chance of engagement.
  • Visual stuffs are mighty effective when it comes to influencing buying decisions. Buying decision of 90% consumers are dependent on videos, according to a stats.

11. Focus On Customer Service

The recipe to disaster for most of the business firms is they get so lost in other things at social media which make them forget a primary feature like customer service. Keep a sharp eye on your comments. Most people ask their queries through comments.

Responding their problem is not what good customer service is all about. You have to reply them at the earliest. While setting a social media account for your business firm, make a pledge to set a high threshold of customer service.
