Sinead Gallagher of the Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) has been named as a Rising Leader winner at the PMI Professional Awards. This makes her the first person from Ireland to win one of these global awards.
Having been nominated for the coveted award, Sinead was announced as one of just two category winners at the 2024 PMI Global Summit. The event was hosted in Los Angeles on 19th September and attended by 4,000 project management professionals.
The PMI Professional Awards celebrate project leaders and teams across the globe who deliver innovation and impact, support collaboration and teamwork, and achieve outstanding project outcomes.
Sinead, who has over five years of project and programme management experience, was recognised as a Rising Leader – a young professional under the age of 35 who has made a significant impact in advancing project management standards, practices and ethics.
Alongside her role as Director of Marketing and Communications for the Ireland Chapter of PMI, Sinead is currently serving as a Programme Management Consultant for Auxilion, a leading IT managed services provider, where she supports organisations on their digital transformation journeys.
Speaking about Sinead’s award win, Peter Glynne, President of the Ireland Chapter of PMI, said: “This achievement recognises Sinead’s passion for driving impactful change through effective people engagement and project management.
“As an effective change leader and excellent marketeer, we see her consistently driving innovation every day, so it is fantastic for the global project management community to celebrate this.
“To be the first person from Ireland to win such an award and chosen from a talented and global pool of change leaders is testament to her. Of course, as a Rising Leader, this is only the beginning and we look forward to seeing what else the future holds for Sinead.”
