Pure Telecom, the Irish-owned telecoms provider, today announces €1.8M investment in 32 new jobs following a successful 2016. The jobs and investment will facilitate further growth of the Pure Telecom residential customer base as it targets 100,000 customers by year-end 2019.
This latest jobs announcement from Pure Telecom reflects its increasing prominence in the highly-competitive Irish telecoms market. This month, the company announced that it reached 42,500 customers at the end of 2016 – up 25% from the previous year – with aggressive plans for further growth. In the next three years, it will more than double its residential customer base through acquisition of other telcos, competitive wins and overall market growth.
In order to acquire more customers and facilitate the growing numbers, Pure Telecom will create 32 extra jobs in areas including sales, employee training, customer service and technical support by the end of 2017. At the end of the hiring process, which has already started, the Pure Telecom team will reach 112 people.
The additional team members’ primary focus will be to ensure Pure Telecom maintains the highest standard of customer care across all business segments. This will help to maintain the telecoms provider’s average business customer retention rate of five-plus years, while also ensuring long-term residential customer retention rates. The increased support will also help the company target new growth opportunities through channel partners.
“Contributing to the growth of our customer base will be the National Broadband Plan – both on the residential and business side. We work with multiple telecoms wholesale providers, giving us access to more premises in Ireland than anyone else. As more homes and businesses across Ireland become connected to fibre, there will be huge customer demand for high-speed broadband services. When that time comes, we will be ready to support the increased demand with no negative impact to our existing customers.
“People are essential to making Pure Telecom a success. Our customers know that when they phone us, their call will be answered quickly and professionally. Our new team members will ensure that we continue to be known as a reliable, customer-first business.”
