Saurabh is an expert FinTech strategist and a Chief Product Owner of a dApp. Being an blockchain & tokenomics specialist, he is an ICO advisor and ambassador enabling start-ups to transform their vision into a working product to dominate the global landscape. Here is what he has to say about Presale.Market and why he became involved.
What is your background briefly?
I have been in the technology industry for the last 15 years. With an engineering degree and an MBA in Finance, I am involved in both the tech side and the business side of digital transformation projects. I have performed various roles such as software developer, IT analyst, IT Consultant, project manager, and product owner. I have worked in big MNCs viz. HSBC, Bank of New York Mellon, Wipro, Flex Technologies in India, USA, UK and now in the Netherlands.
Along with my work, I am also a big fan of ‘personal finance & economics’ and have been investing in stocks and other traditional financial instruments (till ICOs arrived). Currently, I am involved in a blockchain based FinTech start-up to make crypto available to children.
How did you pivot into blockchain – what was the lightbulb moment?
Like many others, I heard about Bitcoin first on CNBC or some other financial news website. Initially, I ignored it and thought of it as a scam. But then in 2015 (very late in the game), I came across a book called “Digital Gold”. This book just blew me away and gave me sleepless nights. Then I read what is arguably the book on Bitcoin to date “Mastering Bitcoin”. These two books made it clear in my mind that this is the next big thing and I have to get into it. I have been following Andreas since then. Once, I got a clear picture of what blockchain is, understanding that this technology has many other use cases was a natural progression.
Give us a one minute outline on how your career has developed in the space.
Initially, I spent a lot of time learning about all the concepts, jargons, etc. in the crypto space. Early this year I got an opportunity to build a dApp at https://give.si/. I have been in involved in all aspects of the project – developing the MVP, building a community, preparing for a pre-sale, etc. So, I have a good 360-degree view of all the aspects of a blockchain startup – an awesome roller coaster ride so far.
What excited you the most to cause you to get involved with the presale.market ICO?
The current ICO rating system is broken – that is a no-brainer. With a few players providing the ratings they clearly have an upper hand. So, when Fraser explain what presale.market is, it was easy for me to see that this a great dApp use case. More so, because I have experienced the hassles of a Presale or ICO first hand at Give.
Why do you think it is such a powerful and revolutionary idea?
It is powerful primarily because it sticks to the foundations of a dApp. I like the no-compromise attitude of Fraser and his team, They have built a pure dApp that ‘ticks’ all the boxes- transparent, permissionless, decentralized and on Ethereum (most secure smart-contract platform). All the rules are well-defined and governed by the code. Moreover, it is not just an ICO assessment platform, it has all the service providers integrated too. Can’t wait to see this dApp going Live to all.
How can people find out more about:
The ICO? The website at presale.market is the best place to start, otherwise I would suggest reading Fraser’s Medium article:
You & your work? I am currently overseeing all aspects of Product Development for the Give project. We have successfully developed the MVP and tested with 800 Kids in Kosovo. Our next version will be completed in the coming months and rolled out to 8000 kids in Thailand.
Anything other interesting insights to share OR Anything else you’d like to add?
I just think that this is a great initiative and once the concept has been well tested on the MainNet it can be expanded to other assets as well. It could be a decentralized Moody’s as well.
