The IMCA (Institute of Management Consultants and Advisers Ireland) yesterday presented its annual IMCA Medal for demonstrable enterprise and innovation with lasting impact to Liam Casey, Founder & CEO of PCH.
This year’s award was made to Liam Casey in recognition of his achievement in building PCH – a billion dollar company that designs custom product solutions for startups and Fortune 500 companies – and his success in developing a business in China, and internationally. PCH was founded in 1996 as a small Cork-based sourcing company. The business has evolved significantly since then, growing from a one-person startup to a truly international company with locations in 9 countries, employing over 2,500 people with over 60 million shipments per year, and handling over 11 million components daily.
The IMCA Medal award has now been in operation since 1990 and has been presented on an all-island basis since 2007 with a distinguished list of recipients including former President of Ireland Mary McAleese, John Moloney Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc and Barry O’Leary CEO of IDA.
Speaking in Dublin at the medal presentation at IMCA’s Conference at Aviva Stadium, the Institute’s President, Jim Fitzsimons said: “For twenty-five years the IMCA have recognised excellence in management through our Annual Medal Award and this year we are proud to honour Liam Casey for his development of PCH into a major global business, utilising highly innovative supply chain models to provide ‘end-to-end’ services from design to engineering, manufacturing to packaging, fulfillment to retail distribution.”
