At the launch of the new ‘IrishMortgages’ app, Michael Quinn, Managing Director, Mortgage Brain Ireland
Mortgage Brain Ireland has launched ‘IrishMortgages’, a free mortgage comparison app. This app will provide important benefits and services to anyone who is looking at various mortgage and affordability options in Ireland.
Key features of the new app include the ability to calculate how much a mortgage will cost per month, the size of deposit and income you will require and a simple in-built calculator to determine how much an individual or couple can borrow based on the latest Central Bank lending rules.
Michael Quinn, managing director, Mortgage Brain Ireland, commented: “Research commissioned by Mortgage Brain Ireland shows that of those who are currently looking to take out a mortgage within the next three years, 55% are most likely to be using online channels to source their initial information. This new ‘IrishMortgages’ app meets an increasingly important need in today’s mortgage market in Ireland by providing the essential facts that customers need at any time of the day.
“We find that ‘how much will a mortgage cost’ is the first question on the minds of customers using the app. This question is rapidly followed by calculating their deposit size and borrowing limits. But what’s really relevant to renters is understanding how much of a mortgage would they get for their monthly rent payments?”
The app provides mortgage seekers with free access to the information they may need to find the best mortgage for their requirements. Consumers can also find a mortgage broker through the app.
Since an equivalent app was launched in the UK in 2012, over 100,000 customers have downloaded the app and it has been used over 1 million times.
