Moyee Coffee welcomes Simon Cocking as Brand Ambassador

Moyee Coffee, have today announced tech innovator Simon Cocking as a brand ambassador and advisor as part of Moyee’s mission to bring radical transparency to the coffee industry.

“We are delighted to have Simon Cocking join the FairChain movement here at Moyee Coffee,” says Shane Reilly, co-founder of Moyee Coffee in Ireland. “Simon has incredible experience as a serial entrepreneur, tech journalist and global influencer in the areas of blockchain, fintech and data security. Over 20 years he has built up a strong network around the world and we are excited to work with Simon as part of our growth in Ireland and the UK.”

Moyee Coffee supplies radically good coffee that is roasted at origin in Ethiopia and Kenya for maximum impact. This approach – of adding more value in the coffee belt – aims to disrupt the coffee industry and create lasting impact in coffee-producing countries.

Simon Cocking stated, “I’m looking forward to helping Moyee build a movement in Ireland and further afield. I’ve been a fan of Moyee’s mission for a while to ensure more jobs, income and profit go back to coffee countries. In particular, I’m excited to see blockchain technology being developed to create shared value chains and inclusive business models. That’s something genuinely disruptive that can be adapted for so many industries.”

Revolution in Transparency

In the coming months, Moyee will be launching the first fully blockchain-traceable coffee, mapping out the coffee chain from first mile to last mile.

“Blockchain introduces a whole new layer of transparency to this process, making it easier than ever to ensure farmers are paid living wages, your coffee is from where you say it is and it is as good as you say it is” says Reilly. “As we roll out this blockchain project with our partners in the FairChain Foundation we can only benefit from Simon’s experience in the tech industry and his advice in launching something disruptive in an established industry.”

Connecting Consumers to Coffee Farmers

“Ultimately we want to use blockchain technology to go beyond supply transparency and to create strong links with our coffee customers in Ireland and coffee producers in Ethiopia. We think Simon is ideally placed to help forge those links and help us to make every sip count.”

About Moyee Coffee

Moyee Coffee is a coffee company with a difference. It is the world’s first FairChain coffee company supplying radically good coffee that is roasted at origin in Ethiopia and Kenya for maximum impact.

Moyee is working to create shared value chains and inclusive business models. This is why they are using blockchain technology to make the whole coffee supply chain more transparent from first mile to last mile. More importantly, this will drive real value from coffee consumers to coffee producers.

The unique combination of uncompromised coffee and a progressive social and economic agenda is behind the company’s tagline: “Radically good coffee with radical impact”. A cult coffee brand in The Netherlands, Moyee introduced its FairChain coffee to Ireland in late 2016. Further expansion in Europe awaits.

About FairChain Foundation

Since 2012, the FairChain Foundation has been an outspoken supporter of businesses whose aim is both entrepreneurial competitiveness and social impact. Using its knowledge of raw commodity markets and smallholder communities, the Foundation supports its partners’ ambitions to create living incomes, urban employment, industrialization, investments, and pure, net profits in developing countries that produce the most valuable commodities, be it coffee or cocao, hazlenuts or tea. By creating more added value and paying fair prices to producers in the countries of origin, social enterprises can shift the balance in value chains. In addition to Moyee Coffee, the FairChain Foundation supports Sauce with a Cause, Frank about Tea, Soul Rebels and many more.
