Interview with Frederique Murphy, Mountain Moving Mindset Strategist and Keynote Speaker

What is your background briefly?

Everything surrounds my fascination of the power of the mind to rewire our malleable brain for success. This first led me to earning a bachelor’s degree in communications with a major in social psychology, to then becoming a master practitioner of neurolinguistics, hypnosis and quantum linguistics, as well as studying the scientific fields of positive psychology, neuroscience, and behaviour change. All of this to continuously learn, as much as I can, to expand my mind and brain expertise in order to help drive powerful transformations and make change happen.

Does it seem like a logical background to what you do now?

Absolutely! It is like everything fell into place. I’m a strong believer that everything happens for a reason – even when that reason has not yet been identified as it can take days, weeks, months or years for that to happen, and this belief has always served me. Specifically in not regretting or questioning anything as I move forward.

Everything came together to create the ‘Mountain Moving Mindset’ platform: combining 17 years’ experience in corporate change for large multinational organisations and a scientific expertise, with strategic vision and business acumen, to help organisations, inc. Fortune 500 companies, and associations reap the benefits of tapping into the power of their leaders’ minds.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

I’m a leadership mindset strategist and keynote speaker who inspires and equips leaders to move through extraordinary change. As the founder and owner of the Mountain Moving Mindset (M3) company, I leverage my M3 platform to deliver inspiration and scientifically-based strategies to help professionals move mountains with the power of their mind. The mountains symbolise that next step, that next goal, that next level.

The Mountain Moving Mindset with Frederique Murphy

Why do you think it is such a powerful expertise?

Because it is everything 😉 When you think about it, everything starts in the mind. Your brain believes everything you think and say, explaining why your thoughts and words either ignite or extinguish your next action. It is therefore vital to learn the skills in order to become an expert at controlling your mind (and not the other way around). It is about being the boss of your mind.

What’s coming for you in 2020?

So much…! It is exciting. 2020, feels pretty special! While I believe we can always start anything at any point in time, there is definitely something that extra special at this time of the year. New year, new decade, new beginning:  what a powerful energy to embrace!

Right now: I’m packing my bags getting ready to fly to speak at the 2020 MPI EMEC conference. Their theme this year is SO aligned with my mission, drive and passion: ‘Push your boundaries’, and I’m truly excited to step on stage and share with the attendees how their brains work, so that they can perform at their best, make high-quality decisions and confidently problem-solve even in high-pressure situations.

Next: I will be stepping on stage at the 2020 Digital Business World Congress as the Masterminds Congress’ Master of Ceremonies. Their theme this year is ‘Accelerating performance’, and my aim is to infuse a powerful and exciting energy when it comes to change and transformation, and welcome and introduce the 26,000+ C-Level executives to a stellar cast of speakers as I’ve done for the past few years.

And, last but not least, my book! The M3 Power is going large and I’m thrilled to be working on it, currently discussing publishing options with a couple of publishing houses, and bringing my ‘Lead Beyond The Edge’ book to life. My book is about making the extraordinary happens by providing my readers with the mind strategies they need to overcome any challenges: act in spite of fear, inspire and drive change, and accomplish anything, anytime, anywhere.

How can people find out more about you personally & your work?

I LOVE connecting, so in addition to visiting my website FrederiqueMurphy.com, where you can find a multitude of blog posts and podcast episodes, as well as my TEDx Talk, please do reach out on any or all of these social media channels: Twitter, LinkedIn & Instagram (I do handle each of these personally 😉 I’m aiming to post a lot more content and stories during live events (particularly on Insta), so make sure you connect with me to not miss out on the moving mountains behind-the-scenes.

And, of course, should you want me to come in your organisation or association, and inspire and equip your audience to move mountains, I’d love to discuss, and I’m only an email, tweet, or message away!

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

Thank YOU so much Simon for the interview; it is a pleasure to be featured on ITN. And I’m sure you’ll agree with me, we can share with our readers that I’ll soon join the ITN team as a regular columnist, and I look forward to sharing with your readers an M3 column, focusing on mindset resources to move through extraordinary change.
