In the last 10 years, Canada is termed as one of the best destinations in the world for mineral investment; credit goes to its government policies and Norvergence LLC team congratulates them for the same.
In 2014-2015, more than 40 companies from 13 countries invested in the mining sector of Canada.
On Tuesday, the federal government of Canada announced $3.5 million in funding to advance green energy technology in Sudbury.
(The Sadhbury region of Canada is rich in metallic ores and has almost 15 active mines. The region currently produces 51,000 tons of ore per day).

This investment includes:
The government allocated $2 million to FVT Research which is a B.C.-based manufacturer of battery-electric drive systems to design, develop and test a 14-ton battery-electric vehicle for underground mining activities. (FVT is known for developing drop-in electric drivetrains as diesel replacements for vehicles. It has already developed hybrid (HEV), the plug-in (PEV) electric vehicle drivetrains, and EV components for mining vehicles, transit buses, and commercial vehicles).
The government also allocated $1.5 million to the Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corporation (MIRARCO) which is a Sudbury-based non-profit organization, to create a Natural Heat Exchange Engineering Technology (NHEET). (MIRARCO is known for providing innovative solutions for the mining industry).
Regarding this investment, the Canadian natural resources ministry Natural Resources Canada said and Norvergence quotes:
Sudbury’s mining and minerals industry is a leader in clean growth. This growth is vital, as developing Canada’s natural resources in more sustainable ways will create good jobs, increase competitiveness and reduce pollution as we move toward a clean energy future.
Paul Lefebvre who is a Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Seamus O’Regan, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources said:
Our government continues to invest in projects that are positioning Canada’s mining industry to lead a clean energy future. Through ingenious ideas and dedicated partners, we are promoting competitiveness and helping ensure good mining jobs in Sudbury for years to come.”
I commend our government for supporting innovative technology development by supporting local organizations like FVT Research and MIRARCO. Investments like this one help ensure that Nickel Belt – Greater Sudbury’s mining industry remains at the forefront through the development and adoption of innovative and green technologies for a cleaner future. To understand all this, it’s important to explore the mining industry of Canada.

Canada – A World Leader in Mining
Being a world leader in the mining industry, Canada supplies more than 60 minerals and metals across the world.
The country is the world’s number one producer of cobalt, diamonds, nickel, gold, tungsten, and uranium, etc.
Mineral rights can be leased by individuals or companies from provincial or territorial governments; Canada has 2 main processes or mechanisms for acquiring mineral rights (“Crown Discretion and Free-Entry).
The free entry system is adopted by Labrador, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nunavut, Yukon, and the Northwest Territories. While the rest of the provinces have adopted crown discretion.
Overall, having tremendous potential in its mining sector, Canada’s economy is on an all-time high and the government’s approach towards green mining technology adds more value to it.
