How many years has it been going?
I have been doing mobile photography workshops with the Gallery of Photography since 2015.
What was the inspiration to start it?
This workshop came from a request from the gallery to offer an online one while we are in lockdown. I said I would love to do it and suggested we do it for the ISPCC who are doing such great and needed work at this time with children.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Discovering that photography is not about cameras, just like hairdressing is not about scissors. In the workshop we will explore how to get the most out of their smartphone camera, train your eye to see photographically and find photo opportunities in familiar surroundings in and around your home as we are in lockdown.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
After the workshop we will run a little competition and my friends in Huawei, Ireland have been kind enough to offer a Watch GT2 as a prize.
Who will be speaking?
Just me – Brendan Ó Sé
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Download Zoom on your computer and try to keep your smartphone free to use during the workshop. Download the free app Snapseed – here for Apple users and here for Android users and begin to experiment with it.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
You can sign up to this workshop by making a single donation to the ISPCC, include the title ‘Smartphone Workshop’ in your donation, then simply forward your confirmation email receipt from the ISPCC to info@
