On Monday the 3rd of November 2014 from 6pm – 9pm Microsoft and NDRC are collaborating to host an ‘open mic night’ for company founders at the Odessa Club in Dublin 2. The event is being hosted by Microsoft and NDRC in advance of Web Summit to highlight some of the quality companies to have emerged from NDRC’s investment programmes.
Monday’s event will see ten companies pitch to an audience of advisors, investors and companies from Dublin’s tech ecosytem. The format is a three minute pitch, followed by two minutes of Q&A from the floor. Other speakers on the night will include Ben Hurley, CEO of NDRC and Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President & Chief Evangelist, Microsoft Corporation. Companies confirmed to pitch include Von Bismark, Bizimply, DropCar, Chasing Returns, Pewter Games, CDigifeye, TrialView, Learnupon and ShotClip.
Speaking today Clare Dillon, Developer Lead, Microsoft Ireland said: “Web Summit is an important date in the calendar for all who love technology in Ireland and beyond. It provides an opportunity for great conversations and collaborations, giving rise to new ideas which may well go on to improve all our lives. Microsoft is proud to support the Web Summit once again in 2014. Over the three days we’ll be looking to engage with as many people as possible and hopefully help some attendees turn their ideas into a reality.”
“In advance of Web Summit we wanted to work with NDRC to highlight some of the companies that are coming through their pipeline and benefiting from the Microsoft Ventures/NDRC partnership. Monday will be a great event and I’m looking forward to hearing from the ten companies about the progress they’ve made.”
Speaking in advance of the event Ben Hurley, CEO of NDRC said: “I am excited to welcome Chief Evangelist Steve Guggenheimer to Dublin on Monday, and to show him some of the very best tech startup companies coming out of Ireland today. NDRC’s global partnership with Microsoft Ventures is an endorsement of our work, but more importantly provides global exposure for the ventures in NDRC’s portfolio, with access to advice, mentoring, technology and potentially investment.”
