HelloBezlo, New Irish kids fashion brand, has launched its kickstarter, crowd funding campaign to bring children’s wear for the adventurous, outdoors girl who loves to climb trees, dreams of flying in space, and writes code… but still throws on a tutu for a tea party.
Hello Bezlo mixes designs such as rocket girl in space and computer coding with tutus, dresses and capes to create a collection of clothes designed for young girls everywhere who love to solve life’s mysteries but want a dress that is both versatile and stylish.
Clodagh Connell, 27, founder of Hello Bezlo who has swapped a career in nursing for fashion said “We have everything in place to get our first collection to the market. We have our sample collection created and it’s really great. We’re hoping our kickstarter campaign will raise the funds needed to go to production and bring our business to life.”
The Bezlo girl (and her wardrobe) needs to be ready for anything – but the current market is not delivering the essential clothing she needs. A lot of her clothes are bought in the boys department because the girl’s department on high street stores are limited to pink and frills with “girlie” prints of butterflies and rainbows.
“My niece loves tractors and space rockets but also has her own unique sense of style. Looking for clothing was frustrating so I decided to set out and solve this problem. The girl I was helping wasn’t a girly girl or a tomboy. There wasn’t a name to describe her so I invented one – Bezlo. She’s a Bezlo girl and we’re here to create clothes for her.” added Clodagh.
This is an idea that has come from the heart. Clodagh while still working as a nurse in Ireland, has thrown herself in creating Hello Bezlo. She took part in start up accelerators in London, entered tech hackathon and even learnt how to commuter code. Clodagh focused on creating an e-commerce business that would connect with consumers to brainstorm and develop the range of clothing from the beginning.
