The Law Society of Ireland is pleased to announce the details of the Justice Media Awards 2022 and invite entries for this year’s competition. The Justice Media Awards 2022 will take place on Wednesday 22 June 2022.
The awards recognise outstanding print and broadcast journalism that contributes to the public’s understanding of justice, the legal system and the legal issues of the day. The Justice Media Awards have been in existence for over 30 years and are the longest continuously-running media awards in Ireland.
We are proud to announce a brand new category, Environmental/climate justice reporting (all channels). This category was introduced to recognise the growing importance of media reporting on issues relating to the intersection between equality, human rights and climate change.
As part of the annual review of Justice Media Award’s categories a standalone podcast category has been established to recognise the increasingly competitive trend and high quality of podcast entries, such as the overall Justice Media Awards winner in 2021, the Second Captains podcast series for BBC Sounds, ‘Where is George Gibney?’
The Law Society looks forward to celebrating another highly competitive year of entries. We particularly encourage entries from journalists from diverse backgrounds, and entries covering topics relating to the law that increase representation for gender equality, diversity and inclusion issues in Ireland.
The deadline for entries is at 5pm on Wednesday 30 March 2022.
For the full list of categories, entry forms and submission guidelines please see our website at www.lawsociety.ie/JMA.
