European Tech Cluster, it@cork continues the Tech Thursday event series in November with a business focused session on ‘Creating Business Impact through the use of Cloud Technologies’.

The seminar will focus on the journey of Trend Micro, a global leader in security software and solutions with a European Operations Centre in Cork, who now deliver different business opportunities through the use of virtualisation, automation, orchestration and cloud technology across the private and public cloud areas.

Using Trend Micro’s IT department as an example, William Dalton, Director of Corporate Technology, will base the session around various cloud based technologies and the move up the value chain for business success.

Knowing how to implement cloud management, as a set of approaches and technologies, into the everyday running of a business is evolving, cloud computing is becoming more complex but increasingly critical to the success of a business. This session will concentrate on how to operate and monitor single or multiple cloud instances” said, William Dalton, Director of Corporate Technology, Trend Micro.

While many are becoming familiar with the technology behind cloud management, the impact it can have on a business is not as well understood. This session is about keeping your business under control while leveraging cloud based resources” said James O’Connell, Cloud Infrastructure Services Specialist (vCloud Air), VMware and Chairman of it@cork Tech Thursday.

This it@cork event, ‘Creating Business Impact through the use of Cloud Technologies’, will be held in the Council Chambers, Cork County Hall on Thursday 06 November 2014, starting at 5.30pm.
